At the Criminalistics-Police University, from 15 to 19 September 2025, a specialized training was held for master’s programme students in CBRNE (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, Explosive) from the University of Tor Vergata in Rome.

During the five-day programme, participants had the opportunity to become familiar with the basics of ionizing radiation, management of radioactive waste, detection and protection techniques in case of radiological incidents, as well as practical procedures for decontamination and correct use of personal protective equipment. The training also included work on scenarios of biological threats, through training under laboratory and field conditions.

The programme was led by renowned experts from the Criminalistics-Police University, the Vinča Institute of Nuclear Sciences, Nuclear Facilities of Serbia, the Military Academy, and the University of Tor Vergata. Among the lecturers and trainers were Prof. Dr. Radovan Karkalić, Prof. Dr. Ana Branković, Dr. Gvozden Tasić, Dr. Ana Todorović, and Dr. Dunja Drakulić. This international training was implemented as part of the European project SparkUp (which aims to strengthen capacities in responding to chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear threats).

At the ceremonial closing of the training, the rector of the Criminalistics-Police University, Prof. Dr. Zoran Đurđević, presented certificates to the participants, stressing the importance of international cooperation in the field of security and the role of the University in educating new generations of experts.
