Alba Iannotti

Research Fellow

Alba Iannotti holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering and is specialized in CBRNe security education, crisis management training, and international emergency preparedness. She is the founder and president of HESAR (Health Safety Environmental Research Association Rome) and a lecturer and didactic coordinator for the CBRNe Master courses at the University of Rome Tor Vergata, managing high-level training programs for military, first responders, and civil protection agencies. She has been involved in several international conferences on CBRN risk mitigation and has coordinated research initiatives on non-conventional threat detection and response strategies. She has developed a new method of game theory application to optimize the non-conventional events management (like the CWA transloading from Syria).

Pasquale Gaudio

Pasquale Gaudio

Professor

Professor Pasquale Gaudio is an Associate Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering at the University of Rome Tor Vergata. He earned his Master’s degree in Physics and completed a Ph.D. in Quantum Electronics and Plasma Physics in 2007. His research expertise encompasses laser applications, environmental remote sensing techniques such as Lidar/Dial, and CBRNe (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and explosive) safety and security. Throughout his career, Professor Gaudio has collaborated with prominent companies like Finmeccanica SpA and Vitrociset SpA. He has coordinated several national and international research projects, focusing on developing laser systems for detecting toxic industrial chemicals, chemical warfare agents, and biological threats. Additionally, he has contributed to nuclear fusion research, particularly in analyzing dust mobilization within thermonuclear fusion reactors and interpreting polarimeter signals at the JET fusion reactor in Culham, UK. Currently, Professor Gaudio coordinates the International Master Courses in Protection Against CBRNe Events at the University of Rome Tor Vergata. He has authored over 200 scientific publications and holds three Italian patents.

Gabriele Giuga

Gabriele Giuga

Research Fellow

Dr. Gabriele Giuga is a researcher and advisor in the field of CBRNe (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and explosive) at the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”, where he also gives lectures in Forensic Medicine, Forensic Psychiatry and Criminology at the university’s Psychology courses. He holds a degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Rome “La Sapienza”, where he graduated with top honors (110/110 cum laude), and a post-degree specialization in Legal Medicine and Forensic Pathology from the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”, also completed with the highest marks (50/50 cum laude). Dr. Giuga has further expanded his academic expertise with two Level II Master’s degrees: one in Forensic Psychiatry from “La Sapienza” University and another in “Protection Against CBRNe Events” from “Tor Vergata”.

As a forensic pathologist technical consultant, he collaborates with the Public Prosecutor’s Offices of Rome, Latina, Velletri, Rieti, and Tivoli, and serves as a court-appointed forensic psychiatrist for the Judges of the Tribunals of Rome and Rieti.
