The ceremonial promotion of the textbook “Methodology for Combating High-Tech Crime”, a significant scientific and professional work contributing to the development of police science and the improvement of practices in combating high-tech crime, was held at the premises of the University of Criminal Investigation and Police Studies on Tuesday, March 24, 2026.

The scientific value of the textbook, authored by Prof. Dr. Zvonimir Ivanović and Head of the Service for Combating High-Tech Crime Vladimir Vujić, was discussed by reviewer Mina Zirojević, who emphasized that the work meets high academic standards and provides a reliable foundation for the further education of students and professionals. The practical application of the methodology was presented by Saša Živanović, highlighting the importance of directly implementing scientific knowledge in the daily work of the police and prosecution. Contemporary technological challenges, including the role of artificial intelligence and security aspects of the digital environment, were addressed by Prof. Dr. Milan Gnjatović, who stressed the necessity of continuously monitoring technological developments.

The author of the textbook, Zvonimir Ivanović, presented the origins and concept of the book, emphasizing that it is the result of many years of experience, including professional training in the United Kingdom through the Chevening program, work within Interpol’s global network of academies, as well as participation in national programs for combating high-tech crime. The co-author, Head of the Service for Combating High-Tech Crime Vladimir Vujić, also shared his perspective on practical challenges and the cooperation between the academic and operational communities.

A special contribution to the event was made by international partners, including a representative of the British Embassy in Serbia, Joanna Ralfs, who emphasized the importance of international cooperation in countering high-tech crime, considering that this type of crime knows no national borders.

This event once again confirmed the role of the University of Criminal Investigation and Police Studies, one of the partners of the SPARKUP project, as a leading institution in education and professional development in the field of security, as well as its commitment to addressing modern challenges in the fight against high-tech crime.
