SparkUp participated in the LEA Projects Cluster Meeting on Friday, 24 October 2025, hosted by Privanova and SafeHorizon, gathering representatives from over 45 EU-funded projects in the field of law enforcement innovation, cybersecurity, and digital resilience. The event took place under the European Cybersecurity Month initiative and featured contributions from INTERPOL and leading Horizon Europe projects.

Gvozden Tasić, Coordinator of the SparkUp Project (Vinca Institute of Nuclear Sciences), presented the project in his session titled “Connecting the Dots: How CBRNE Innovation Enhances Europe’s Overall Security Landscape.”

Membership in the LEA Projects Cluster provides SparkUp with a strategic platform to advance its key objectives:

  • Enhancing the entrepreneurial and leadership skills of ERA talents: Through interactions with Cluster members, including law enforcement, research institutions, and industry partners, SparkUp can offer trainees real-world exposure, practical field experience, and insights into societal and security challenges, complementing its comprehensive training programme.
  • Increasing R&I capacities of academic partners: The Cluster fosters collaboration and knowledge exchange across EU-funded initiatives, enabling SparkUp’s academic partners to form joint working groups, access complementary research infrastructures, and strengthen their institutional capabilities.
  • Maximising project impact, visibility, and sustainability: By being part of a large, multidisciplinary European security community, SparkUp can enhance dissemination, stakeholder engagement, and long-term collaboration, while contributing to the broader CBRNE Cluster and Community of Experts.

Being part of the LEA Projects Cluster allows SparkUp to align its activities with the real-world operational needs of Law Enforcement Agencies, collaborate with complementary EU-funded initiatives, and accelerate the translation of research into practical security solutions. This engagement directly supports SparkUp’s mission to strengthen the Southern Central and Eastern European (CEE) region’s capacity to respond to CBRNE threats, enhance R&I capabilities through cross-sector collaboration, and empower a new generation of experts. By bridging academia, industry, and end-user communities, SparkUp contributes to a more integrated, resilient, and innovation-driven European Research Area.
