SparkUp project presented at the UNODC

The SparkUp Project was recently presented at the UNODC Constructive Dialogue on Technical Assistance and International Cooperation by Farhan Sahito, partner at Privanova, on 2 June 2025. Farhan Sahito contributed to Panel Topic 2: “Exchange of good practices in international cooperation to freeze and confiscate proceeds of crime in the form of virtual currencies.”

During the session, Privanova’s official statement highlighted several of its EU-funded initiatives, including the GroundUp project. The statement underscored existing gaps in international cooperation and emphasised the need for mutual trust, harmonised frameworks, and interoperable tools to effectively support law enforcement agencies in tracing, freezing, and recovering criminal assets involving virtual currencies.

The full statement is available on the official UNODC website.
