Associate Professor Dr. Ana Branković from the University of Criminal Investigation and Police Studies and Senior Research Associate Dr. Ana Todorović from the Vinca Institute of Nuclear Sciences participated in the international BEHEALTH 2025 conference, held in Bucharest from October 20 to 24, 2025. This important event brought together representatives of European institutions, researchers, and companies active in the field of healthcare innovation.
Prof. Dr. Branković took an active part in sessions dedicated to healthcare system resilience, digital transformation, and the One Health concept. As part of the One Health Approach panel, she delivered a presentation on the importance of training police personnel in the event of biological incidents, emphasizing the necessity of cooperation between healthcare and security services.
Dr. Ana Todorović presented her work titled “Optimizing Biological Threat Response: The Importance of Detection Awareness at the Incident Site,” highlighting the crucial role of timely detection and assessment of biological threats at the incident site, as well as the need to strengthen the operational capacities of responsible institutions.
During the conference, both participants established numerous contacts with international experts and potential partners in future European projects. They also held a meeting with partners from the GroundUp project at the Politehnica University, discussing ongoing activities and opportunities for further collaboration.
Their participation represents a significant contribution to promoting the University of Criminal Investigation and Police Studies and the Vinča Institute, as well as to advancing the importance of biological security and cross-sector cooperation.
